Man,this session was amazing! The songs included are epic. When you listen to a 10 minute jam and still want more, that sums it up.
Ah, this was an EPIC night with TLC. I went with Led Zepp’s In My Time Of Dying. This 11-minute masterpiece has everything. Melodic guitar rifts, booming drum beats, fast and slow tempos, and Robert Plant’s sweet soulful soaring vocals. I love this song!!!
“Wasted Days” by Cloud Nothings just rips right out of the gate and doesn’t slow down for nine minutes. I get this image in my head of myself driving at night through this relentless rain storm. The song is killer. The lyrics very directly deal with regret and a sense that life is passing by. Dylan Baldi is the central figure of Cloud Nothings- lead guitar, lyrics, vocals. His voice is raw, powerful, and authentic. I am generally not a fan of rock singers who just scream into a microphone, but Baldi is different, he can absolutely sing and he does so at many points in his songs, but on top of that when he ‘scream sings’ you can feel the pain in his voice…like he’s literally ripping apart his vocal chords. It is intense.
