Jason Isbell is one of the most highly regarded singer/songwriters (alt country) today and he is in the same league as the best that have ever done it. He does everything well. “Relatively Easy” is off his 2013 album, Southeastern. His songs tell stories about characters that we all know or that we are ourselves. Jason Isbell has walked the walked in his life and gone through some very challenging periods…he provides us life earned wisdom through his music. With all of the challenges going on in the world in general and in my own life specifically, I take great comfort in his lyrics and perspective.

Wolf Alice’s album, Vision of a Life, won the 2018 Mercury Prise for best UK rock album- and for good reason. Some how they sound shoegazy and dreamy while still rocking. And lead singer, Ellie Rosewell’s voice can go from seductive and beautiful to straight up raucous and guttural in a flash. “Formidable Cool” sounds as cool as I want to be.
